correcting certain language versions of Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/162 laying down rules for the application of Directive (EU) 2019/904 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the calculation, verification and reporting on the reduction in the consumption of certain single-use plastic products and the measures taken by Member States to achieve such reduction

THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION,

Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,

Having regard to Directive (EU) 2019/904 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 5 June 2019 on the reduction of the impact of certain plastic products on the environment ( 1 ) , and in particular Article 4(2) and Article 13(4), first subparagraph, thereof,

Whereas:

The Portuguese language version of Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/162 ( 2 ) contains errors in Article 1(1), point (a) and in Annex I, the paragraph on PoMCfB, points (a) and (b) and the paragraph on PoMFC, points (i) and (ii), as regards the calculation of the reduction in the consumption of certain single-use plastic products. These errors alter the meaning of the provisions.

The Lithuanian language version of Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/162 contains several errors in Annex III, points (1) and (2), in the tables setting the format for reporting information on consumption reduction measures. These errors alter the meaning of the provisions.

The Lithuanian and Portuguese language versions of Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/162 should therefore be corrected accordingly. The other language versions are not affected.

The measures provided for in this Decision are in accordance with the opinion of the Committee established by Article 39 of Directive 2008/98/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council ( 3 ) , delivered prior to the adoption of Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/162,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

This Decision shall enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union .
