Packaging Act (VerpackG — EPR for packaging)

VerpackG is Germany's primary EPR law for packaging, implementing EU Directive 94/62/EG; it establishes producer responsibility for take-back, collection, and high-quality recycling of packaging materials, with mandatory system participation, registration, data reporting, and material identification labeling—enacted 1 January 2019.
