Sustainable Waste Management Act, No. 31 of 2022 (EPR + circular economy)

Kenya's Sustainable Waste Management Act (2022) establishes a comprehensive legal framework for waste management including explicit extended producer responsibility provisions (as defined in the Act's interpretation section), waste segregation, materials recovery, and circular-economy principles; enacted 26 July 2022 with institutional authority vested in the National Environment Management Authority and a dedicated Waste Management Council.
