Consumer Recycling Education and Outreach (REO) Grant Program

The REO grant program, funded with $75M through the IIJA (implementing the Save Our Seas 2.0 / RECYCLE Act authority), makes grants to improve the effectiveness of residential and community recycling and composting through public education and outreach, including a national recycling toolkit and campaigns to reduce contamination and wasted food. It attacks the behavioral bottleneck (contamination and low participation) that limits recycling-system yield.
