DOE Battery Materials Processing and Battery Manufacturing and Recycling Grant Program

Authorized by Section 40207 of the IIJA and administered by DOE (MESC/NETL), this multi-billion-dollar grant program funds domestic battery-materials processing, manufacturing, and end-of-life recycling and second-life reuse to close the loop on critical minerals and reduce reliance on virgin extraction. It is the federal industrial-policy lever building U.S. battery circularity across the upstream-to-recycling supply chain.
