GAS PIPELINE LEAK DETECTION AND REPAIR. 1 (a) IN GENERAL.—Notwithstanding any other provi-2 sion of law, the final rule of the Pipeline and Hazardous 3 Materials Safety Administration issued under section 4 60102(q) of title 49, United States Code, on January 17, 5 2025, relating to ‘‘Pipeline Safety: Gas Pipeline Leak De-6 tection and Repair’’ (Docket No. PHMSA–2021–0039; 7 RIN 2137–AF51) shall take effect on the date of enact-8 ment of this Act. 9 (b) SUBSEQUENT UPDATES.—Nothing in this section 10 prohibits the Secretary from updating any regulation pro-11 mulgated or revised under this section or section 60102(q) 12 of title 49, United States Code, to provide protections or 13 standards that are more stringent than those provided by 14 the rule made effective by subsection (a) or any other rule 15 in effect as of the date of enactment of this Act. 16 Æ VerDate Sep 11 2014 00:59 Aug 01, 2025 Jkt 059200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\H4818.IH H4818ssavage on LAPJG3WLY3PROD with BILLS
