Deconstruction of Buildings Law (Portland City Code Ch. 17.106)

Requires full deconstruction (not mechanical demolition) of houses and duplexes built in 1940 or earlier, or designated historic, when seeking a demolition permit; salvaged materials may be sold, donated, or reused on site. Adopted 2016 with a 1916 cutoff; amended November 2019 to 1940, effective January 20, 2020.
