·Batteries contained in covered electronic products subject to CT General Statutes sections 22a-629 to 22a-640

·Lead acid batteries weighing more than 11 lbs
·Motor vehicle batteries subject to CT General Statutes section 22a-256h, or any battery that is a component of a motor vehicle or intended for use exclusively in motor vehicles
·Batteries recalled by the producer for safety reasons
·Batteries in battery-containing products that are not intended or designed to be easily removable from the product (i.e., not removable with commonly used household tools)
·Batteries subject to CT General Statutes sections 22a-629 to 22a-640
·Retailers are not required to make retail locations available as collection sites
·Retailers are not in violation of the sales prohibition if the department's website lists the producer or brand as a participant in an approved plan as of the date the product is made available for retail sale
