WHEREAS, across the country, states, including California, are moving to mandate end-of-life textile collection and recycling; and WHEREAS, these textile recycling laws are out of touch and unduly burdensome, and businesses will surely look to operate in more pro-business states; and WHEREAS, Alabama has a centuries-old history in producing high-quality cotton and textiles and is known for its extremely business-friendly environment; and WHEREAS, Alabama is uniquely suited to capitalize on this market and become the epicenter of the textile recycling industry in the United States; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That the Legislature encourages the Governor and the relevant executive agencies to create a plan to promote the textile recycling industry in the State of Alabama. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23
